This week the industry celebrates the 40th anniversary of the release of a pioneering piece of legislation. Back in the mid-1970s the end of July saw the entry into force of the first harmonised European Directive on cosmetic products – Directive 76/768/EEC.
Over the decades the Directive has seen several changes through its seven amendments, and has since been transformed into a Regulation (Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009) that came into force in July 2013.
